interdisciplinary contents
While terms such as “cross-disciplinary”, “inter-disciplinary,” and “cross-curricular” are often used interchangeably, a distinction needs to be made here.
Current Spanish legislation distinguishes between “contenidos/elementos transversales” (described below and that are “common” to all the subjects in the National Curriculum ) and “interdisciplinares”, “interdisciplinaridad”, etc. Since “interdisciplinar” involves contents that may be core to one or more subjects and can be dealt with in Spanish, English or any other language used in the classroom, the terms “cross-disciplinary” or “interdisciplinary“, or even “multidisciplinary” seem to be the appropriate terms here. For a distinction among them, you can check the following:

- Contenidos transversales
- Cross-curricular contents
While the terms cross-curricular and cross-disciplinary (or interdisciplinary) are often used indistinctively, a distinction needs to be made between them here.
Following current legislation in Spain, “contenidos o elementos transversales” such as the development of reading comprehension and expression, digital competence, critical thinking, the promotion of sustainable development issues, gender equality, creativity, etc., cut across all the subjects in the (official) National Curriculum. Hence, the choice of cross-curricular” to refer to “transversal”

Education (as in Education Authorities)
Although the term “educative” exists in English, it has a different meaning, namely “something that serves to educate, instructive, which is obviously not the meaning of the term in Spanish in this particular context. So, we can have highly educative experiences outside educational contexts.

- (see “Programación Didáctica“)
There are different terms we can use when we refer to “programación” within an educational context. What we should never use is “programming” as this refers to writing code, i.e., computer language. Never related to education:

T
- Temporalización (de las Unidades Didácticas o Situaciones de Aprendizaje)
- Organisation and Timing for the Teaching Units or learning Situations
Time Sequencing for the Teaching Units or Learning Situations
Schedule for the Teaching Units or Learning Situations
Timeframe for the Teaching Units or Learning Situations
Chronology for the teaching Units or Learning Situations
Any of these terms would do, as they refer to the number of sessions or lessons per teaching unit and the timing for the unit: first two weeks in November, etc.
Far too often, we have seen the Spanglish term “temporalisation”. Like “footing,” the term does not exist in English, at least not with the meaning it has here in Spanish.
